This World Is Not My Home

Here's the art process at work. This piece started this morning while I was frantically filling up my sketchbook. I looked for any idea I could find and settled on the idea of a sad robot in front of a long distant cityscape or fog. I drew it in the book and, a few hours later, while at the computer, decided to retry it and make it a bit more simple.

The title comes from a song, or a number of songs by His Name Is Alive, many of which are on the Stars On ESP record which I highly recommend. The robot looks out of place because the world is, of course, not his home. He's just passing through. Maybe he'll find a happy ending. I don't know. The background and linework were done with the Space Textures brushes.
